I will say they are filming at a warehouse near the Honolulu International Airport but I’m not going to disclose exact the location. It’s pointless anyways because they are filming on government property (one word: trespassing) and you can’t even get close to the warehouse because of the high security. They have roads blocked leading to the warehouse and guards at almost every corner. There’s a small chance you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Johnny (unless you’re super sneaky), you’ll have more luck running into him off the set.

I do know they’ll be filming at this warehouse until this weekend. This will be their last filming location on the island.

Local singer Tahiti Rey, daughter of entertainer Augie Rey, is thrilled beyond words that Johnny Depp, Capt. Jack Sparrow of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, visited Apartment 3 two Wednesdays in a row for dinner. Depp, in town filming the fourth installment, “On Stranger Tides,” listened intently to Tahiti the first time, then asked her to chit-chat about her music and future plans. He complimented her voice and composing savvy; she gave him an autographed copy of her “Acoustic Beauty” CD.

When he returned, Depp told her how much he loved her CD, particularly her “You Give Me Butterflies,” which sums up her happy nervousness about how they bonded through her music. She’s already writing new tunes for a new CD, to be produced by Shawn Pimental and Michael Grande, and Depp’s encouragement has buoyed her confidence. And her prolific pal Colbie Caillat (“Bubbly,” “Lucky” with Jason Mraz) popped in at the RumFire at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel where Tahiti performs periodically. She’s regularly at Apartment 3 on Wednesdays, the Elegant Dive on Thursdays at the Hyatt Regency Waikiki and at ThirtyNine Hotel on Fridays in Chinatown. …

The production spent about two weeks shooting off Windward Oahu primarily Heeia Pier and in Kaneohe Bay…

By the time the production is wrapped out – by the end of August – Disney and Jerry Bruckheimers‘ production companies will have spent about $100 million in Hawaii including the four-week shoot on Kauai…Bruckheimer said in a Email that he’s back on Oahu this week for the final filming since it’s “almost time to move to the next shoot location”…

Someone sits in New Zealand, types out a fucking rumor and I spend the next three days dealing with that rumor,” Davies told SFX. “What I get then is BBC Publicity e-mailing me, BBC Films publicity, BBC Wales publicity, all saying, ‘Have you said this?’ That then goes through BBC Worldwide and BBC America publicity, and I lose a fucking morning because of some chump typing shit! It drives me mad.”

Depp said recently while demanding that they be released:

Johnny Depp appeared as Captain Jack Sparrow in full 3D, sitting on the beach with a bottle of rum and speaking directly to the Comic-Con audience.

“My name is Captain Jack Sparrow,” he slurs, perched amid luscious foliage in an exotic locale. (Like we needed reminding.) “I take it some of you have heard of me.”

As the familiar string-y Pirates music provides a backing soundtrack, Sparrow continues: “You may have also heard whisperings and rumours that Jack Sparrow will be recruiting a crew to undertake a voyage to the Fountain of Youth. Not true, course not. But you wouldn’t be interested in joining me, would you?”

Confident double bluff there, considering the past two Pirates movies amounted to flotsam and jetsam critically – even if audiences did turn out in their droves.

“I do admit that there will be variable and substantial dangers on the way,” Sparrow confides of his non-adventure. “Including but not limited to zombies, cutthroats, mermaids and the vicious and vivacious Penelope Cruz… Which is why I’m not going, no sir.”

The tease closes with Sparrow ordering “Bloody Marys all round!”, and the film’s official logo (with subtitle On Stranger Tides) set against a calmly, ominously rippling seabed.

Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides will hit theaters on May 20, 2011.
