The swiss website 20 minutes online writes that Johnny was there, in Geneva, on July 9th. JD.org translated the important parts for you:

Johnny landed on Friday Evening on a private Airport in Geneva. Vanessa played on a Jazz Festival in Montreux on Saturday. Johnny let the people make Photos and gave autographs. Afterwards, Johnny drove into the night in a limousine. If and how he followed Vanessa’s concert is unknown. Previously, Vanessa and the festival people had demented that Johnny would come, too.

He is an avid reader, and in particular a fan of both Hunter S. Thompson and the Beats. Depp, of course, played Raoul Duke in the movie version of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, and in 2011 will appear as Paul Kemp in The Rum Diary. In the course of researching the first role, he became a good friend of Thompson’s, staying at Owl Farm from time to time.

Johnny Depp is a collector of Beat memorabilia, too, and a fan of both Jack Kerouac and Allen Ginsberg. Depp is known to have purchased Kerouac’s raincoat (for a disputed sum of money), and even played Kerouac in a 1999 TV show (“The Source”).

If you’re a fan of the Beats you’ll probably have seen him reading from Kerouac’s Mexico City Blues:
