I caught wind yesterday (thanks to a reliable source) that a new highly confidential filming site is currently taking place in Honolulu with Johnny. I decide to check it out last night to see if the rumors are true and indeed they are. When I was visiting the set I saw the trucks, film crew, and security that were previously located in Kaneohe. I will say they are filming at a warehouse near the Honolulu International Airport but I’m not going to disclose exact the location. It’s pointless anyways because they are filming on government property (one word: trespassing) and you can’t even get close to the warehouse because of the high security. They have roads blocked leading to the warehouse and guards at almost every corner. There’s a small chance you’ll be able to catch a glimpse of Johnny (unless you’re super sneaky), you’ll have more luck running into him off the set. I do know they’ll be filming at this warehouse until this weekend. This will be their last filming location on the island. Thanks to Emma ? from The Zone |

Local singer Tahiti Rey, daughter of entertainer Augie Rey, is thrilled beyond words that Johnny Depp, Capt. Jack Sparrow of Disney’s “Pirates of the Caribbean” franchise, visited Apartment 3 two Wednesdays in a row for dinner. Depp, in town filming the fourth installment, “On Stranger Tides,” listened intently to Tahiti the first time, then asked her to chit-chat about her music and future plans. He complimented her voice and composing savvy; she gave him an autographed copy of her “Acoustic Beauty” CD. When he returned, Depp told her how much he loved her CD, particularly her “You Give Me Butterflies,” which sums up her happy nervousness about how they bonded through her music. She’s already writing new tunes for a new CD, to be produced by Shawn Pimental and Michael Grande, and Depp’s encouragement has buoyed her confidence. And her prolific pal Colbie Caillat (“Bubbly,” “Lucky” with Jason Mraz) popped in at the RumFire at the Sheraton Waikiki Hotel where Tahiti performs periodically. Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides wraps this Friday on Oahu with filming throughout the week in a large warehouse near Honolulu International Airport where some mega sets have been built… The production spent about two weeks shooting off Windward Oahu primarily Heeia Pier and in Kaneohe Bay… By the time the production is wrapped out – by the end of August – Disney and Jerry Bruckheimers‘ production companies will have spent about $100 million in Hawaii including the four-week shoot on Kauai…Bruckheimer said in a Email that he’s back on Oahu this week for the final filming since it’s “almost time to move to the next shoot location”… |
